Zoe-perry

Perry is a Chicago native, birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television performances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. Perry was forbidden to perform in front of her family until an adulthood stage, because they were concerned about the stress it would create. Perry was shy in high-school and was not a performer. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends when she transferred to the university from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry moved in New York to search for jobs on television, landing small parts in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led the actress back to California where she found theater jobs. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. Perry was in the show with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of the ABC drama The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry had a minor role on the ABC political drama Scandal which starred her father. She also played in the role of a young Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon - an CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The actress was chosen for the role in spite of her strong relationship with the character's family.
